WOW THE BARF BAG IS PATENTED
Yesterday I noticed for the first time that the barf bag had a patent number on it!

So I went into Google's awesome patent search database, and found the details of the patent.  I have a number of patents, but I am in no way an expert on patent law.  So in reading through the abstract, I'm just amazed at how you can take something so simple, like a barf bag, coat it in plastic (to avoid, I guess, "seepage") and have it fold over in a certain way with an adhesive sealing strip, then add the graphics SEAT OCCUPIED on the back.
Here is my question.  If the bag is meant to say, "SEAT OCCUPIED" when would you use it?  Your seat is reserved, right?  When people board, don't they go to an assigned seat?  Do you leave it on the seat empty, or "full"?

Not all airlines have assigned seats ... Southwest, for example, just has boarding groups but no assigned seats when you get your ticket.

Southwest also doesn't have First Class seating, so Gary wouldn't be aware of its policies  : )
