 Hi from New York City! We had a three hour connection here on our way to Paris, and I got a chance to meet for the first time, my editor for "Snaps", the famous publisher Kent Carroll.
It is so interesting getting into the publishing/authoring business. I have never met a publisher before, and since he has been editing the book the interesting thing is that of course he knows my life story. We've talked on the phone a lot, but have never met in person. We had a great talk about the future plans for "Snaps" and we also discussed "COTHS" the book I am currently writing.
The book publishing industry is where my mind is at these days. I am learning so much and it is amazing to me to have the opportunity to start at the top of the industry.
I want to thank many of you so much for informing me of the counterfeit knockoff items of my products that have been damaging to my business. Not only because these products were basically being ripped off - the confusion between my product and the counterfeit product was causing us grief because people were having problems with the foul chemical smell (some people actually got sick) from the counterfeit items. I really don't want anybody to say, hey my dog got sick chewing on a Gary Fong Lightsphere.
Thanks to my legal team at CHRISTIE, PARKER AND HALE, you will see these knockoff items disappearing pretty quickly. I've been doing searches on ebay, and sure enough they are vanishing. The "Puffer" was being knocked off too, until we got on them. Now the only "Puffers" you'll see on ebay are genuine Gary Fong products.
We are off to Paris! I am excited to see Mark, the CEO of Cokin. We have been friends for a few years, and now we're going to be working together more. BBJ Imports in London is doing an amazing job with getting the Gary Fong products out, and I am excited that we are having a growing presence internationally. With the internet and all that, you can certainly have an international business, but there's nothing like meeting face-to-face.
Speaking of which, Tiffany is in Madison Wisconsin right now supervising a shipment. She's a lucky girl!
We are going to be in Europe most of the month of June. I will be piping in with images and stories!
