 if you think drunk driving
is serious... (and many of you do...)

Then here's a hypothetical question.  If a person in a high office is convicted of drunk driving, should they lose their position?

Convicted? Then they would be in jail and unable to fulfill their duties anyhow, right?

There are too many variables to make a conclusive rule, too many factors. Since the person holds a public office we know that there lack any morals, so I think it would be consistent with their natural character and they shouldn't be punished for being who the people elected them to be.

YES!!!  100% lose all the political ties & be completely humiliated in public and made to suffer the same amount of loss of many things as a regular/common Joe Q. Public.

Laws are broken and or ignored all the time by elected officials. Why is this any different?

Unless of course, their daddy and his friends bury the conviction. But you know, that never happens.
