RANCH WEBSITE UPDATED! click here for photos

Now that the project is completed, I put up some new photos of the finished project.  Also, I put up the web galleries of different stages of completion, but I can't bear to look at the old photos.  I want to forget about the 19 months it took to get here!

We've been working on the website.  Twin Creek Ranch is going to be Kelowna's most awesome wedding facility, so if you want to rent it for your wedding, it's $5k/night - two night minimum.  There's no place in BC like it.

Gary,

I have a question for you, please dont take this the wrong way!!

Why is it that you have to rent out and always NEED to make money from things you own? I mean the ranch is beautiful and I cant understand why you would want to rent it out and start to run it down like a wedding facility?? I thought this was your new home and your retreat? You are already very wealthy, own so much and have all the toys anyone would want, why get into the rental side of your ranch too? How much more money do you really need and what about the upkeep after an event and the costs and the dealings with renters???

I have seen and watched and listened to you talk about the painfull and long 19 months to build this beautiful property and now after all of the waiting you want to rent it out? To me this is crazy. the ranch is a masterpiece of work and design, sharing it with close friends and family sounds better to me, plus you dont have to DEAL with anyone else who might RENT IT and cause some damage.

I was wondering the same thing myself. Wouldn't you want just one place to call home...a place where you don't have to pack up and is just a private space for those close to you.

Because I am not a resident of BC, I can't be here full time. Plus, we travel a lot and I have homes in Los Angeles and Seattle. Our goal is six weddings per year, and that should pay the entire mortgage cost for this ranch, so as awesome as it is - imagine living here mortgage free.

I have had such good luck with renting out my properties in terms of wear and tear because it means every few days somebody comes in, cleans it professionally, and inspects for damage which gets taken care of in the damage deposits. A couple can opt for having the wedding ceremony here, which does not include access to the inside of the house. The house rents for $5,000 per night, and that is a great value considering that it is the size of a small hotel.

Another consideration is tax benefits. A commercial property has many more tax opportunities than a principal residence. When we have kids, and my residence application gets approved (which my immigration attorney said can take up to two years from now) then we'd consider changing my principal residence to here.

The pictures look awesome, you did a fantastic job on the ranch. We can not wait to see what your next project will be (Like writing a book about it?). Chris and Richard
