AT TIMES LIKE THIS I WONDER WHY GOD MADE OUR HEARTS SO TENDER

You guys, my friend Brian Kramer lost his beautiful, beautiful girl Madison.  Madison was such a pretty girl, and she just charmed the pants off of everybody with her sweet, gorgeous, expressive eyes.

Brian and Madison were inseparable.  I am so sad right now to think of the hole in his heart.  I honestly think Brian couldn't find a human that would give the companionship and unconditional love Madison would give him.

The puzzle to me is why did God make dogs so wonderful, and yet live such short lives?  Sometimes I think this is why I have chosen not to get a dog, because of Rodin.  At least a horse will live 35 some odd years.

It is not important to know why Madison is gone, only to know that she lived a long, pampered life with her best friend and companion at her side all the time.  Let me tell you my memory of Madison.

She had such pretty ears, it was like beautiful hair on a beautiful girl.  She had the most expressive eyes - she would look at you with curiosity, sometimes with attitude, but she would never give you nearly the time of day that she gave Brian.  Whenever Brian said anything, did anything, no matter what was going on - he was all that mattered.  And for the rest of us, we could just sit back and admire and maybe be a little jealous of that amazing bond between the two of them.
Here is a beautiful collage that was made by Brian's friend Damian.  And if you can possibly handle it, here is a poem written on the candle given to Brian by Madison's doctor:

This Flame burns bright in honor of you
My faithful friend, I will always miss you.
Through the years you were always there,
To make me smile and dry my tears.
And you maybe gone, but your spirit remains
To forever light my way, bring warmth to my heart.

Memory never dies.....Memory never fades.

That is really sad.
I have three dogs and can't imagine losing any of them.
I do wish dogs lived longer...and sometimes I wished I didn't have any dogs because it'll be so hard to let them go.
It looks like Madison led a great life. That's all you can hope for.

Brian, my heart heart truly goes out to you. I just lost my little guy 2 weeks ago. He was by my side for almost 18 years. I rescued him from a place where he was severely beaten and neglected. He was the most loyal little guy I have ever had. Your Madison is just beautiful. I am so sorry you have to go through the pain of not being with her. I know first hand that no words can begin to ease the pain of the gaping wound in your heart, but I really am so sad to hear of the loss of your beloved Madison.

I'm so sorry Brian, I know dogs are like people. My dog is 11 years old and I am scared when that day comes. I have no doubt she was in the BEST place when she passed, I know you were GREAT and funny Dad.
My heart goes out to you.

Dan you kill me! If you weren't so funny, you wouldn't be so funny! My blog is really depressing you know when like loved ones die or when an empire collapses, stuff like that so I thought I would balance it out with a happy header!

Brian -- I am not even really a dog person -- but I was a "Willis" person through and through. (You can ask anyone who knows me about Willis.) That's how I KNOW about you... I've been hearing about your "girl" since the moment Gary first introduced us. I am so so sorry. I have extra tissues as a whole bunch of goofy things that still make me cry pretty regulalry -- if you need any support in that department you know where to find me :)

I know how he feels. My dog lived for 16 years. I don't see me getting another dog because I feel Gizmo was irreplaceable and no other could compare. If you are looking for a long lasting companion then consider a parrot. Many will outlive humans.
